About

Built by solving real infrastructure problems

Vertical Horizon Networks is a hands-on infrastructure company based in Indiana. Our work spans communications infrastructure, managed IT, and internet services — built organically over time as we encountered real gaps that needed to be filled.

We don’t force one model for every client. Each practice area stands on its own, and overlap happens only when it actually helps.

Who we are

We’re a locally owned, technically hands-on team. The same people who plan and build a system are responsible for supporting it long-term — which changes how we design, document, and communicate.

We prioritize correctness, maintainability, and realistic expectations — even when that means narrowing scope or recommending a different approach.

How we grew

We didn’t start as a “three-in-one” company. We grew by doing work in the real world and seeing the same issues repeat: fragile handoffs, unclear ownership, and systems that weren’t built to be supported.

Instead of outsourcing critical pieces, we built the capability to own outcomes. Over time, that matured into three focused practice areas — each valuable on its own, and not forced together.

Our Work

Three focused practice areas

Clients often engage us for one area. Sometimes there’s overlap — and when it makes sense, we can help connect the dots. But we don’t bundle services or force a single model.

Division 27 Infrastructure

Communications infrastructure including fiber, structured cabling, wireless links, and camera systems. This work spans schools, municipalities, campuses, and facilities across Indiana.

Managed IT

Operational support for organizations that need stable, well-documented systems. Focused on identity, devices, backups, virtualization, and day-to-day reliability — not reactive firefighting.

Internet Services

Locally built and supported internet delivered via fiber and fixed wireless. Availability depends on physical infrastructure — and we’re transparent about coverage and constraints.

How we work

Ownership over handoffs

We don’t disappear after install. Systems are designed with support, documentation, and real operational use in mind — because we’re the ones supporting them.

Designed to survive change

Staff turnover, leadership changes, and vendor shifts happen. We design systems that remain understandable and recoverable long after initial deployment.

Where we operate

Our work spans different geographies depending on the discipline. Division 27 and Managed IT engagements can extend across Indiana and beyond, while internet services are limited to areas where infrastructure exists.

We believe honesty about coverage and constraints avoids misaligned expectations — and makes projects smoother for everyone.

Who we’re a good fit for

  • • Schools and education-focused organizations
  • • Municipalities and public facilities
  • • Rural operations and distributed environments
  • • Organizations that value long-term reliability over short-term fixes

We may not be the right fit for organizations looking for the lowest bid, unmanaged growth, or vendor-driven implementations with unclear ownership.

Built to be accountable

If you’re looking for a partner who understands infrastructure, respects constraints, and takes responsibility for outcomes — we’d be glad to talk.
